What I love the most about this paisley maxi dress is how versatile and comfortable it is! Yes, the red and plum paisley print is beautiful; and the removable scarf is a nice addition, but when I laid my eyes on this dress, I immediately fell in love and saw myself wearing it with flip-flops to a barbecue or heels to a Summer wedding! Now this dress wouldn’t necessary be my type of dress as a wedding guest, but sometimes a girl just wants to be simple, comfortable, and down to earth without necessary sacrificing (her) style.
I was hesitant at first when I styled it for a friend’s wedding last August, but it felt so comfortable and forgiving that I didn’t even want to change it into something more formal and sophisticated. I Absolutely love this dress.
It is incredibly flattering with the empire waist; and I am glad the shoulder straps are adjustable. The fit was perfect, not too tight in the bust since it has a big elastic panel in the back. And guess what it has pockets. Pockets make every outfit perfect, right? 🙂
As you can see, I kept the accessories to a minimum and used the scarf as a chocker for that interesting and chic vibe.If you’re going for a more fun or that bohemian look, you can tie the scarf in your hair or you can use it as a ‘belt’ to cinch your waist for that define look or you can just ditch the scarf altogether, if you don’t feel it. Versatile much, right?
The funny thing is when I tried this paisley maxi dress on in the store, the sale lady oohed and aahed and said I looked like a goddess; and I just smiled and said ‘thank you’, thinking to myself she just wanted to make her sale… 🙂
Ironically, the day I wore this dress for my friend’s wedding, I received the exact same compliment from a complete stranger! 😀 Many others also commented on how pretty the pattern is and how beautiful I looked in the dress. I guess as the saying goes, sometimes, less is more. 😉
What are your thoughts about this dress? Would you wear it to a wedding?
As always, thank you for reading. Cheers to a fabulous weekend!
