African Prints Maxi Skirt + Off-Shoulder Top

Another day to be grateful for, beauties! I hope you, mothers, had the most joyful celebration for the amazing job you do. When I say I’m blessed with the most amazing people, people that I call family, it’s a total understatement. God has truly blessed me with the most caring, loving and beautiful daughters and an awesomely awesome (pun intended) and thoughtful husband. They always say that as far as they’re concern, Mother’s Day is an everyday celebration, but they never fail to make me feel extra special on Mothers Day Sundays; and this Mothers Day, well, they’ve outdone themselves… again!

If you love prints maxi skirts, you will probably fall in love with this one. It was a birthday gift that my darling husband surprised me with, with the help and complicity of Eva (Dakrol), the awesome and creative talent behind the design. I will spare you the behind-the-scene details, but it truly is a gorgeous custom-made skirt. I love the beautiful prints, the fullness and the rich texture of the fabric. Plus, it has pockets! Yes, I had to tell anyone that complimented me on the skirt that it has pockets… Not that it has anything to do with why I love this skirt, but yes, this beautiful prints maxi skirt has two deep pockets!!! 🙂

When I first put this look together, for a special event, I thought it wasn’t a very good idea to wear a full length and oversized maxi skirt at this moment, since (here you have it) I’ve been struggling to lose the few pounds I’ve gained in a short period of time due to some personal conditions. I thought the skirt made me look wider than I already am. Being a fashion blogger or influencer,  you often feel like you’d be judged if you look or dress certain ways. I will be transparent and say that those type of feelings made me want to refrain from posting outfits posts ( See my other mention here) until I feel comfortable to do so again, but I digress… We all have our down moments and our time of vulnerability, but I’m glad I regained reason and “confidence” to be unapologetically me no matter the situations or changes I’m going through in life.

Here ‘s to a fabulous week! I hope you like today’s post and look.

I LOVE this maxi skirt, the print is so gorgeous too! I’d wear a maxi every day if it wasn’t for cold, rainy winters and falls 🙂

Girl this is beautiful. Not oversized at all. What I always loved about you is how you carry the “extra” with confidence.
