As I’m writing between the lines to get this post out, I have tons of other things on my to-do list that need to be done. Will I get it all done today? The truth, is I may not get it all done today, but I will still have the things I haven’t been able to crossed off the list on my next to-do-list until I meet my goals. Sometimes, I may even shift things around due to certain circumstances after I determine which needs to go first or which one can wait. See where I’m going?

One question I’m often times asked is: “How do you do it, Edwige? How do you balance it all… ?” The truth is, I don’t! Yes, I’m wearing a lot of hats right now, and I get that I probably make it all look easy. But is it really easy? No, it’s not. That’s a discussion for a whole ‘Nother day. Lol.

“Why do I say I don’t balance it all, yet I seem to make things look easy?” you would ask. Well, “Balance” is defined as a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions. So it’s safe for me to say that I don’t live a balanced life right now. Everything that I have going on right now is not “balanced”- that is far from the truth.

From experience and from what I have learned throughout the years, especially in my blogging and entrepreneurial years, it is not about balancing it all, but rather about prioritizing. And to the people who often asked “how do you balance it all”, that is always my answer; I don’t balance! I prioritize… And since I believe that “passion” is our driven force, don’t be surprised if the word passion, somehow finds its way to that response.

In all seriousness, I don’t think there’s such a thing as “balance it all” at least not to me in this period of my life. It’s all about making certain things a priority at different moments, as long as it is in synchronization with my life’s events and in accordance with my partner and my family.

At this moment, I’m writing this blog post, and making sure it goes live at a certain date and time, and that’s my priority at this time. My next goal is to take a little breather after completion of this task and then serve dinner in about an hour and a half… That will be my priority, then. So basically, each moment, each day, each week or month or even year is called for different priorities; and in order for me to achieve my goal, I set these priorities forth.

I can guarantee you that, it’s not always as smooth or easy as I sound right now. Sometimes, I would have tons of things on my agenda that need to be done in a certain period of time or a due date; and that would be one of those days or weeks that seems almost impossible to meet, let alone exceed any expectation, but like I mentioned earlier, when those moments of frustration arise, I would need to sit down and really study my agenda and shift my priorities around in order for me to achieve my goal(s).

Things can get really overwhelming and stressful; and I think I will go crazy if I try to “balance” everything all at once. Or maybe that’s me balancing it all, doing what I believe works best for me and my family? Ultimately, we can only do so much; and I’m learning to take that step back and re-evaluate everything when needed.

Let’s talk about this dress! I know you were all wondering if I would ever get to it. đŸ˜› Well, here we are!
It’s called Oye Maxi Dress, and I’m here for it! Merry, the brain behind the brand Nomose Couture  has done an incredible job with this off-shoulder maxi dress.

I have seen the short and top version (which are both cute), but I’m obsessed with this maxi version! I feel I can style it over and over and still reach out to it without hesitation. I could go one or two size smaller but it doesn’t take away from the dress.

It comes in a few other fabrics which are all beautiful and difficult to choose from. I’m contemplating getting this dress in one of the other fabrics… what do you say? A lady can’t have too many dresses, right? Hahaha. -This dress is selling out so fast and I know they just restocked again, so if you want one, go grab yours before you regret it. đŸ˜‰

Today’s post was another long one, and thank you very much if you made it to its end. So, what are your thoughts about the topic of “prioritizing over balancing”? Does that sound about right to you? Let me know in the comment session below.
