In all honesty, I haven’t always been a big fan of slip dresses. I used to find them more appropriate for the house or in the bedroom, as they remind me of a night gown, or loungewear that should be worn around the house. However, over the past few years, I have seen that these dresses have become more and more of a trend that is apparently here to stay. You will find them in beautiful silky or satin colors with amazing designs that are fashionable. I find them to be versatile as well, as you can wear them with a turtleneck or a nice blazer for example, in cooler weathers.
Needless to say, I decided to join the trend wagon, and I have gotten myself a couple of slip dresses that I can actually wear out. While I love this color block slip dress from express, I think I could have gone one size smaller.
The overall fit isn’t the most flattering on me, I think… but I would still wear it in the Fall with a turtleneck underneath, a nice blazer and some cute accessories. A nice belt to cinch the waist wouldn’t be a bad idea either, and to pull it all together, I would wear some nice pumps or even some cute booties for a more relax look.
