Black Kimono with African Prints by AKOFA

Hello Beauties,

It’s been a minute and this post is way overdue, but it’s finally here.

My family and I were on vacation for a few days, and after coming back, we wanted to make sure that everything is well taken cared for the kids to start their school year on a great note and for us to get back to work, refreshed and reinvigorated.

If you’re following me on IG, you have probably seen a glimpse of our stay in Florida. We stayed at the Henderson resorts  and  we had a blast; even though we had to cancel a few of our outdoors activities because of the weather.  To make things even better, my husband and I have also attended a 3 days married couples’ retreat which was held at the same resort. Being that August was our wedding anniversary month, it was the perfect occasion to renew our wedding vows at this amazing couples’ retreat.

Now let’s talk about this look, and why this upcoming  designer – Akofa – is one of my absolute favorite designers.

First of all, I’m biased because Akofa, the designer behind the brand Akofa’s, and the kimono I’m wearing in this post is a good friend of mine. A sister, that I love deeply and have seen growing every day into a multi-talented individual and successful entrepreneur. ( I have previously introduced her HERE).

Her Afrocentric designs are timeless, chic and authentically beautiful.  In fact, she had her very first and successful fashion show at the Ankara Festival in LA, last weekend. Such a proud moment for myself and our community! I wish this beautiful sister of mine, nothing but the absolute best. This look is giving me a classy vibe, and the pop of color adds a fun touch to it. I have styled this kimono with jeans, as a loungewear, and I love the versatility of style it offers.  (It also comes in other colors and prints)

This kimono is such a cute and timeless piece that you can throw on, and just go about your day. It also makes a great transitional piece into Fall.
