How to wear a white sweater dress in Fall

white-wrap-dress-and-boots 2

Do you worry about wearing white after Labor Day? That’s old news. No one cares; and you shouldn’t either. 🙂 Sweater dresses are so timeless and never out of style. It’s one trend that keeps repeating itself; and with Fall and Winter around the corner, you better start stocking up on them, friends!

If you ask me, every woman should have at least one sweater dress in their closet; especially if you live in a four season country or city. I must say one of my absolute favorite pieces during cold weather is a nice comfortable sweater dress that can be easily dressed up, and can keep me warm, comfortable, and well put-together

Whether is turtleneck, oversized, sleeveless or a wrap style – like the one I’m wearing here – you can’t go wrong. Styling options for sweater dresses are endless.

Some of the fashionable ways to style a sweater dress in the Fall and Winter are depicted below:

Because sweater dresses are known to be worn during autumn or winter, one of the most popular ways to style a sweater dress is to add a nice pair of tall boots or booties and Voila! Simple as that.

– For inspiration, take a look at this post HERE

  • Sweater Dress layered up with a faux-fur vest.

Faux fur vests are so stylish; and if you want to make a statement with an outfit, a nice fur-vest may just help you do that. Just have fun with it. A stylish outfit is only limited by your imagination. 🙂

It’s a no-brainer! A posh and tailored coat is always the easiest way to elevate your look, when the weather calls for it, of course; and for that elegant and chic look, go for a monochromatic look. If you’re a hat lover like myself, finish your look with a nice hat. Hello miss detective! 🙂

What are your thoughts on Sweater dresses? Are you feeling inspired yet to start shopping for stylish and comfortable sweater dresses? I selected a few styles below that you may find right up your alley. Happy shopping.

Black Kimono with African Prints by AKOFA

Black-kimono-ankara-akofaHello Beauties,

It’s been a minute and this post is way overdue, but it’s finally here.

My family and I were on vacation for a few days, and after coming back, we wanted to make sure that everything is well taken cared for the kids to start their school year on a great note and for us to get back to work, refreshed and reinvigorated.

If you’re following me on IG, you have probably seen a glimpse of our stay in Florida. We stayed at the Henderson resorts  and  we had a blast; even though we had to cancel a few of our outdoors activities because of the weather.  To make things even better, my husband and I have also attended a 3 days married couples’ retreat which was held at the same resort. Being that August was our wedding anniversary month, it was the perfect occasion to renew our wedding vows at this amazing couples’ retreat.

Now let’s talk about this look, and why this upcoming  designer – Akofa – is one of my absolute favorite designers.

First of all, I’m biased because Akofa, the designer behind the brand Akofa’s, and the kimono I’m wearing in this post is a good friend of mine. A sister, that I love deeply and have seen growing every day into a multi-talented individual and successful entrepreneur. ( I have previously introduced her HERE).

Her Afrocentric designs are timeless, chic and authentically beautiful.  In fact, she had her very first and successful fashion show at the Ankara Festival in LA, last weekend. Such a proud moment for myself and our community! I wish this beautiful sister of mine, nothing but the absolute best. Check out her collections, including the kimono I’m wearing in this post on www.Akofas.com . She’s also on Instagram and Facebook.

This look is giving me a classy vibe, and the pop of color adds a fun touch to it. I have styled this kimono with jeans, as a loungewear, and I love the versatility of style it offers.  (It also comes in other colors and prints)

This kimono is such a cute and timeless piece that you can throw on, and just go about your day. It also makes a great transitional piece into Fall.

Bold Stripe Maxi Cover up/Dress

Beautiful-cover up-swimwear-maxi-dress

Happy Wednesday, beauties,

It feels good to be back in action; even though I have a lot on my plate lately, I truly make effort to stop by and post here as possible as I can.

As you may know, (or may not) my blog has turned seven this August, and I have some news coming your way. I cannot make any promises on when I will be revealing what’s cooking, but just know that it’s coming soon. 🙂

My goal for the rest of the month (and upcoming weeks) is to actually share all the lost files I haven’t been able to share here, so that I can start shooting more content, as my schedule is starting to clear out a little bit.

When I say this is a “lost file,  it really is because believe it or not, these pictures were taken about a year ago on a vacation trip to Las Vegas. (You can read about that trip Here) The good news is that this is a beautiful vacation, timeless, classy (yet sexy) look; and the coverup/maxi dress is still available to shop at half the original price.

What I love about this dress is its versatility. You can dress it up or down for pretty much any occasion. It’s a show-shopper that gives you that rich auntie vibe, like the “cool kids” would say. 🙂

I have this dress in too different colors and I got lots of  compliments whether I styled it as a cover up by the pool, or as a maxi dress for brunch or a date night with the girlfriends. I have even styled the dress over jeans and shorts. Let me tell you, the styling options for this number are endless: and I truly believe that it’s the oversized maxi dress that every woman needs in their closet. The dress has adjustable sleeves and comes with a sash that can be used as a belt or a neck piece.  I also love the look of a nice contrasting belt over it to define your waist and create a nicely shaped and fabulous silhouette.

This has definitely become one of my favorite vacation pieces. The oversized floppy hat was the perfect poolside accessory for this dress. I can’t tell you enough how many compliments this look has gotten me, so ladies, do yourself a favor and snag this look before it sells out. 🙂

Trust The Process | Floral Print Pants + Blazer

blue-floral-suit-set-fashion-blog-hypnozglam

Hello beauties,

life has been extremely busy on my side of the hood, and I have been missing in action. It’s hard to believe that we are already past the halfway point to the end of 2021. How are you guys doing with your yearly goals? All I can say is that I’m grateful for both the blessings and the lessons. If there’s one thing that keeps coming to me as I sit and reflect on my goals, it’s “God’s timing is always perfect timing”. Society will have you believe that you must run against the clock to achieve your goals or to keep up with the Joneses, but trust me, it doesn’t have to be that way. We are all in our own race at our own pace. Keep believing and keep working hard (and smart) but trust the process, and if you are a believer, trust God’s perfect timing! If you’re not, trust the universe perfect alignment.

As much as I would like to think that you care for my words of advice or encouragement, I also know that most of you beautiful people are here for the fashion… So let’s talk about this floral pants suit! 🙂

Believe it or not, it has been sitting in my closet for over a year now. I have never gotten around to styling it. I’m not really sure why, but I do know it’s a keeper.
I have received a lot of compliments when I styled this set a couple of months ago. The floral prints are very eye-catching. The pants were a little too short for my liking; and while I know the cut was meant to be an ankle cut, I just think that for the ladies on the taller side of the spectrum, it’s not necessary the ideal. The best part about this set, is that it looks expensive while it’s definitely not. It was a great Target steal; and it was well under $100. Talk about a steal!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it?

Sport Chic Fabletics Woven Jumpsuit

green-fabletic-jumpsuit 2!

Hello beauties,

Happy Friday and happy new month! I had mixed feelings when I first received this jumpsuit in the mail. I wasn’t very sure if I loved it as much as I did when I first saw it on Fabletics’ website, and then I put it on, and I thought ‘it wasn’t too bad. I can work with it.’

The fabric isn’t the softest. It definitely feels like an athletic wear for the cooler seasons, and not your everyday comfortable summer jumpsuit. The color is very vibrant and unique; even more so in person, and I would say it makes a great Spring or Summer sporty chic look. I could have gone a size larger for comfort and more room to breathe in. I love that you can dress up this jumpsuit with heels like I did in these shots, but I also imagine this jumpsuit with some killer tennis shoes or converses for a casual and more sporty vibe. If I have to style this jumpsuit again, I would actually go that route; but I think thi styling turned out great too.

What do you guys think? Let me know in the comment session below.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and fourth of July!
