Happy new week and Happy Memorial Day. I hope you’re having a great long weekend. I’m enjoying mine; and today, I’m taking time to practice a little bit of self-care and rest.
May has been insanely busy for me, and full of blessings and opportunities. It has brought clarity on certain things. I let go and let God, moved from some perspective and let God guide me toward a higher expression of myself.
I’m grateful for epiphanies, opportunities, healing, reminders, nudges, signs… and I pray that I continuously receive them.
This is me thanking God publicly for all He has done for me privately.
Today’s look is about this short suit set I have styled in two slightly different ways in this post. Sometimes, I love giving options by sharing versatile ways to style a piece. This striped short suit is a classic that will never go out of style. I wanted to create a stylish and fun look around this suit, so I went for a bright casual Tee underneath and some fun edgy jeweled gladiators. The shoes complimented the suit well and give the outfit a unique feel. The bright mustard t-shirt was a nice contrast to the black and the color combination is perfect for a Spring or Summer look.
The two-tone trench coat was another beautiful addition to this look and creates a beautiful mix and match combination. Both options are totally up my alley; and make a great classy, stylish, and fun look.
Would you wear this short suit? Which option do you prefer?
I hope you guys are having a great day. It’s been a busy and productive week on my side, and I’m grateful for that. This weekend, I’m heading to the Twin Cities Auto, and I will be sharing some behind the scenes on my Insta stories; so if you are not following me there, head over now and let’s be friend 🙂
In today’s post I’m wearing two of my favorite black designers, both living in Togo, West Africa. I have featured both designers on the blog in the past, and I even shared a Fall/Winter-inspired style wearing this exact dress from Nadiaka. Today’s style is more of a Spring or Summer look inspired by this ethnic maxi dress. My necklace and earrings set and the red Ankara oval clutch are from DaKrol Creation. This is a a simple and elegant combination that will be perfect for a multicultural gathering, church or pretty much anywhere you choose to wear it to.
What do you think of this outfit? Would you wear it?
check out these amazing designers and get yourself some of their beautiful pieces.
Off I go!
As always, thank you for visiting and have a marvelous day!
“The hardest part about the business is minding your own.” – Drake
A lot of people are side-tracked because they go through life “rubbernecking”. – They are overly concerned about what other people have going on in their life whether it’s good or bad… but how is that serving you?
I pride myself for developing one of the most lucrative skills, which is how to stay focused on my own dreams, goals, and aspirations and most importantly leaving other people’s affairs to them. After all, how is that serving me?
Sometimes, we get so fixated on other people, and we end up missing the beauty and the blessings that are apparent in our own lives.
Today, I encourage you to take a moment to breathe in deeply, and to be grateful for all that you have. What the others have, what they look like, or their success is none of our business. Be grateful for who you are and what you have, and then ask for what you want, need, and deserve. Gratitude is a magnet for miracles.
Now onto this fabulous outfit that I shot a while back, when the weather called for turtlenecks and Winter fashion accessories such us this faux-fur scarf. We have been seeing a lot of monochromatic looks, but not often do we see bold ones. I love every piece in this outfit, and putting them together turned out to be fabulous, and I’m here for it. What do you think?
You may not know this, but today’s also my daughter’s birthday! It’s been sixteen years since I became a mother for the very first time; and it’s truly a blessing to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and Mother’s Day on the same day!
My daughter and I took these pictures a while back for my online boutique and since I have never shared them on the blog, I thought today would be a great occasion to do so.
My daughter has been helping a lot lately with my business, and I’m proud to stand beside her, as her mom, but also as her life teacher, and her mentor. It’s truly important for me that she learns all the ropes to success in every way possible and for me, helping and following me closely in my entrepreneurship journey is not only an opportunity to teach her, but it’s also a blessing to have her part of my team. They say teach them young, and as straight A students and rising athlete I’m proud to be raising a beautiful, smart, multi-talented, kind, and hardworking lady that is setting great examples to her younger sisters!
I have many great memories with my daughters and I cherish each one of them. The recent celebratory moment we had together was my oldest daughter’s (who’s birthday is today) sweet sixteen Party and it was just pure magic seeing the happiness and joy on their faces. My family is truly blessed with beautiful and kind daughters, and I’m the most grateful mother on earth.
Cheers to my daughter on this special day for abundant blessings and happiness and happy Mother’s Day to us moms, mom figures, and mothers-to be; and to those longing to be mothers or parents, may your prayers be answered.

Have you ever taken pictures for your blog or content and then decide that, that’s not it… this is not making the cut? Happens to me sometimes!
However, we must know that people don’t want perfection, they want honesty. They want authenticity. We have a habit of only wanting to share perfect pictures and the best six seconds of our day, because we think that is what people expect from us. It could be what some of them expect, but I can guarantee you that not all of them expect perfection. Excellence, maybe but not perfection.
While nothing is wrong with being perfect on the grid all the time, there’s also nothing wrong with showing vulnerability… When I am not at my best, I tell myself that things don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful, they just need to be honest.
I shot this look a few months ago, and I didn’t think I like how the outfit has turned out; so I decided not to post it; but looking at the photos now, I have to remind myself that it’s not about perfection. It’s about how I felt wearing that dress, the confidence I exude, the story behind the dress…. and you know what? I felt damn good! The confidence? You tell me. What do you see? The story behind the dress? well, there’s really none. I just fell in love with the print of dress and couldn’t really beat the price as it was on sale and voila! 🙂
Style wise, I went for these red ankle boots for a bold and unexpected look, and I think it turned out great. What do you think?
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.
