Hello darlings!

It’s just too crazy how this year is flying by. We’re about halfway through the new year and everything just seems to be on a roll! Time waits for no man!!!

I haven’t talked beauty on the blog much; and today I decided to give you fabs a little insight on one of my glam beauty picks especially for this warmer time of the year.

 ***Habibi Body Lotion.***

This body lotion is the new staple in my beauty regimen. If you love a good organic moisturizing body lotion, you will fall in love with this one! I have been a good fan of Habibi body products for a while and I’m mostly familiar with their body balm that I absolutely love! But when they offer to send me this body lotion for a review, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am very picky with what i put on my body and I know Habibi products are all natural and organic, so I know for sure it wouldn’t be bad but, boy, that was an understatement! This lotion wasn’t just NOT bad, but it was actually great! It just glides on your body so smoothly and gives you an instant softness that you will notice in just a few days. I absolutely adore the Jasmin-Vanilla scent! It wasn’t overpowering at all. It was rather refreshing…

Definitely a great lotion that will keep your body moisturized all day long. It’s not too greasy and it’s just perfect for Spring and Summer!

C’est fou comme le temps passe!  Le mois de Juin est pratiquement a sa fin et dire que l’année est déja à moitié finie elle aussi! Vraiment la course contre la montre!

Je n’ai pas vraiment abordé le sujet  décidé d’en parler aujourd’hui, et de partager avec vous un de mes favoris de l’été.

***Habibi Body Lotion.*** 

Si vous appréciez les produits organiques et/ou naturels, cette lotion sera sans doute une favorite dans votre routine beauté! J’ai toujours eu un penchant pour les produits de cette compagnie (Habibi). Leur beurre pour le corps est sans doute le plus fabuleux que j’ai jamais utilisé… Quand l’occasion s’est donc présentée d’essayer ce lait particulier et d’en donner mon opinion, Je ne savais pas vraiment à quoi m’attendre, surtout parce que je suis assez particulière avec mes produits de beauté, mais comme je savais que le produit serait organique et naturel, j’étais rassurée; et je n’en fus pas déçue! Mais bien au contraire! C’est un lait très soyeux qui pénètre délicatement votre peau et la laisse satinée et douce au touché!

Tip of the week | Milk of Magnesia

They say most of our beauty regimen is found in our kitchen or medecine cabinets, and this one may be pretty common but is also a pretty controversial subject among folks.

Originally recommended by doctors for digestive issues, Milk of Magnesia has gained fame on the internet for its use as a Face Primer especially for Oily Skin. Some people even claim that while combating oily skin Milk of Magnesia also makes your skin smoother in the process. What a bonus, right!? While I don’t use this on a regular basis, I’ve used it a couple of times and it worked wonders! Just like a good primer, it held my makeup for a whole 9 to 5 day. I know a few people who swear by this, and I also know a couple others who just can’t stand the thought of it. If you’re not so sure about the use of this product on your face on a daily basis, even though doctors are recommending it (You can do your own research), my thought will be that it’s good to know it does work and can come to the rescue when you run out of your favorite Primer.

How to use it:

 – Apply the Milk of Magnesia in a cotton ball all over the face, using just a thin layer. A small amount goes a long way and when used too much, it can result of a whitish film on the face.

– After applying it on, allow it to dry and apply your makeup.

Bien le bonjour les amis! On dit souvent que les meilleurs remèdes à nos problèmes de beauté sont ceux que l’on trouve dans nos cuisines ou boites à pharmacie. Bien que l’usage du lait de magnésium soit de plus en plus recommandé par un bon nombre de personnes comme base de maquillage, c’est une pratique que quelques uns trouvent ambiguë et déconseillent. Initialement recommandé pour les troubles digestifs, le lait de magnésium est à présent conseillé, par certains dermatologues, pour des soins faciaux aux personnes à la peau grasse et les gurus de beautés glorifient son efficacité en tant que base de maquillage! L’ai-je déja utilisé? La reponse est oui. Est-il efficace? La reponse est encore oui! Très efficace-même à mon avis. Faut -il remplacer la base de maquillage par le lait de magnésium pour toujours? Je dirai, faites vos recherches personnelles et tirez-en votre conclusion. A mon humble avis, je pense bien que c’est une bonne et prompte alternative si vous êtes à court de votre base préférée. 

Comment l’utiliser:

 – A l’aide d’une boule de coton, appliquer le lait de magnésium sur tout le visage en s’assurant de ne pas trop en mettre. Autrement, vous vous retrouverez avec des résidus blancs sur le visage. Une fine couche serait amplement suffisante.

– Après l’application, laisser sécher le produit et ensuite appliquer son maquillage.

So after a few clicks here and there in google, I found out that Younique is a direct sales company that sells products that are natural based! Now a little background about my makeup experience. Shamefully, I must admit that I have little to no experience with makeup, let alone Mascara! I’m simply not THAT girl, but with life comes changes right? So after reading the instructions, I was a little anxious to give it a go and see the results.

Step 1 – Begin by a applying a single coat of your favorite mascara. 

Step 2 – Apply a few coats of the Transplanting Gel . The gel contains collagen which is a key component to the success of the 3D Fiber lashes application. The formula conditions your eyelashes to ensure they stay moisturized and tangle-free. The application of the gel is what will help the fiber lashes stick to the natural lashes.

Step 3 – Now, take the tube with the natural fibers and carefully swipe them over the lashes, helping them stick to the gel. The fibers are derived from the components of green tea; these fibers are unlike any other fiber-based-mascara on the market. The fibers will attach themselves naturally to your eyelashes, giving the volume, length and thickness you have always tried to achieve with regular mascaras.

Step 4 – Take the transplanting gel and swipe a second coat over the top of the lashes once more. – I found this to be the trickiest part. – Let the coats dry for a few seconds before moving onto this step which will help tame any clumping that can naturally occur.

This second coating will ensure that the fibers are secure and stay in place. Your eyelashes will look and feel natural, as if you were wearing regular mascara.

 I have to remind you that I’m not really a makeup girl so this may appear not so “clean”, but your girl is learning and with trial and error, I promise that I will master this! đŸ™‚ That being said, I can guarantee you a much better result with practice and patience.

Removal: This mascara is waterproof but can be removed easily. Simply wipe the eyes with makeup remover and a cotton round then finish by rinsing your face with water and gently massaging your favorite face wash over the eye area before rinsing and patting dry.

 

What do I think?

The Younique 3D Lashes Mascara is a great product for lengthening and thickening lashes. It definitely does what it claims it will do and can give you the long lashes, “false lashes” look that you have always wanted. HOWEVER, If you have sensitive eyes as I do, be careful when applying the natural fibers which can fall down into the eyes and cause slight irritation. Keeping the eyes moisturized with lubricating drops can help with this, along with being calm and careful when applying the fibers. I also think that you will need a lot of patience applying this mascara and figuring out how many coats you will need to apply to achieve the look you want…Practice makes perfect!
