“The hardest part about the business is minding your own.” – Drake
A lot of people are side-tracked because they go through life “rubbernecking”. – They are overly concerned about what other people have going on in their life whether it’s good or bad… but how is that serving you?
I pride myself for developing one of the most lucrative skills, which is how to stay focused on my own dreams, goals, and aspirations and most importantly leaving other people’s affairs to them. After all, how is that serving me?
Sometimes, we get so fixated on other people, and we end up missing the beauty and the blessings that are apparent in our own lives.
Today, I encourage you to take a moment to breathe in deeply, and to be grateful for all that you have. What the others have, what they look like, or their success is none of our business. Be grateful for who you are and what you have, and then ask for what you want, need, and deserve. Gratitude is a magnet for miracles.
Now onto this fabulous outfit that I shot a while back, when the weather called for turtlenecks and Winter fashion accessories such us this faux-fur scarf. We have been seeing a lot of monochromatic looks, but not often do we see bold ones. I love every piece in this outfit, and putting them together turned out to be fabulous, and I’m here for it. What do you think?
The funny thing about getting older… your eyesight gets weaker, but your ability to see through the BS gets much better.
My momma used to tell me that no matter what you say or do, people will always talk about you, or speak ill of you… and it’s fine, because such is life. Just do you.
Mama was right! I may not fully understand then, because I was younger and maybe naïve, but today, with accrued experience, I do! In turn, I teach my kids the same important values my mother has taught me and I speak words of encouragement and positivity into them every single day. They may or may not fully understand or grab it today, because they’re still young and naive, but it’s okay. I know I’m raising them to grow and glow into strong, beautiful, and kind women and leaders… As they do so, it will make more sense to them, as it does to me today.
People are going to judge you no matter what you do. Be kind, be loving, and do all things to the best of your ability… and if they do judge you, they’re going to judge you on your best! – Just Do You.
Somebody needs to hear this today, so click on the “share” button and share the words. 🙂
Welcome to the new month of March. I pray that it’s filled of joy and prosperity. Before we get to the outfit of the day, allow me to put you up to a challenge, if you are up for it. I know it’s sometimes difficult and overwhelming to work on our daily and big goals, but it doesn’t have to be. With some planning, a lot of discipline, affirmations, and prayers, we can get a step closer to our dreams everyday. So here’s a tip I want to share with you.
Starting today, make a list of the things you’d like to accomplish this month and then make another list of 5 things you need to do every day in order to reach your goals. Make sure you’re making this second list every night before going to bed. Prepare yourself for the day to come. This list is crucial and should be different from your normal daily to-do list. Every day, start with the most difficult or most time-consuming tasks and cross them, one by one, off your list. If by the end of the day, you didn’t cross everything off the list, it’s fine. Tomorrow is another day. Add it to the following day’s list, and make sure you tackle it first and keep going. Start today and feel free to update me on your progress. I’d be happy to be your accountability partner, if you so wish. You got this! We got this! I’m rooting for you!
Now onto the fashion. 🙂
Even though I actually shot this outfit during autumn, I will have no problem wearing it now. The skirt is beautiful, lightweight and breathable and so is the blouse. I fell in love with the texture and the colors of the skirt. It’s unique, beautiful and soft to the feel. I love the high slit and the overall design. I think it’s one of those unique pieces that brings life to your wardrobe; and I love how this eclectic look turned out with the animal prints and mesh details sleeves top. I find mixing patterns, textures, and colors fun and bold; and I’m sure we’re going to be seeing a lot of that this Spring.
Speaking of Spring, are you all ready for Spring fashion? The weather has been fairly nice these past couple days here in the Midwest, and we are to believe that Spring might be peeking out earlier than expected. I’m definitely not complaining, and I’m looking forward to it. What do you think of this outfit? Would you wear it?
October is officially here! What are you the most excited about? Halloween or Thanksgiving? Saying goodbye to another month yet, and welcoming my birth month in awe! I might be sounding redundant, but how time is flying is just astonishing. October is a month near and dear to my heart, but October 2020 is the beginning of a new decade for me, and I’m not going to lie, I’ve been having all sort of feelings… but the most predominant one is the feeling of gratitude!
One thing I have come to master this last couple of years is just going with the flow… This mindset has earned me some much needed peace. When people ask me about Fall fashion, I tell them it’s coming eventually, but right now I’m just taking advantage of this Indian Summer and just enjoying the last days of warmth. In other words, I’m going with the flow and making summer last as long as Mother Nature allows me to. The testimony to that might be this one-shoulder polka dot yellow dress that may be screaming Summer (in October), but that’s what I got for you today and I sure hope you don’t mind. 😉
This is another Target find and I must say, Target is being on top of their game with these cute and stylish pieces; and, as a bonus, I can’t complain about the prices either. When polka dot meets pockets and yellow, it creates a fun and feminine look and that’s exactly the vibe I got from this dress in these Streets of Omaha, NE!
What do you think of this casual look? Are y’all still sporting summer looks like I am? Or is it already getting chilly in your neck of a wood? As always, thank you for stopping by! Happy October!
Today, I want to share a few words of encouragement with anyone in a waiting season.
As a believer myself, I’d like to remind you that as you’re going through your waiting season, you aren’t just waiting around doing nothing.
As you anticipate God’s or the universe’s’ intervention, continue walking in prayer and obedience as you carry out your daily business, even when things or circumstances don’t seem to be going your way.
Let me remind you that you’re not alone. Everyone you know or see is facing a delay in some area or another. Yes, you may look around and see people enjoying their blessings… the blessings you desire or think you deserve.
You may think you’re the only one struggling with a particular issue. You may think you’re the only one the Father hasn’t provided for… But truth be told, those thoughts of humiliation and defeat come from a place of unfaithfulness or from your enemy who’s always trying to isolate and destroy you (1 Pet. 5:8-9)
This is just a reminder for both you and myself that we’re not alone, and that what God has for us is for us; and it won’t pass us by! Yes, hear me right, what God has for you is for you; and it won’t pass you by!
