We all want to stay healthy and feel good in our bodies, but sometimes the time that it takes to go to the gym and partake in an extensive workout regime is just too much time, money, and effort in our already busy lives.
So for those of us that want to support our health and exercise without the need to go to the gym, here are some forms of exercise that you can do on your own with basically zero equipment. This seems truly befitting, especially in these precarious Coronavirus (Covid-19) times where confinement and social distancing are of the essence!

Simple and Efficient Workouts
At home strength training
At home strength training is very simple to do, and you can use little to no equipment in order for an effective workout. Some of the most efficient exercises that you can do from the comfort of your home include: push-ups, squats, lunges, abdominal crunches, etc… To be sure you are following a routine that you will really see results with, you can use a fitness app like the 30-Day Fitness App for a guided workout. Let’s say you want to focus on your midsection, the app has a specific 30 minute core workout that you can follow, as well as an entire abs regime that you can do and track your results with.

Walking
Walking is a very underrated form of exercise, even though it is an efficient way to get a workout in – workout that is easy on your body and, definitely something you can surely fit into your daily routine. Going for a walk and getting some movement in, in general, isn’t something that will get you drenched in sweat, yet it will activate your cardiovascular system. You can go for a morning walk, go for an after-dinner walk, fit in whenever and wherever you can during your day, and even get your family or friends to join you. This is especially helpful for parents since they can get their kids out for walks with them and get some exercise in all the while encouraging their kids to be active.

Jogging/Running
Running is a way for you to get outside or make use of that treadmill you have at home. You can boost treadmill workouts by doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the treadmill or on your run and amplify your already effective workout. Running is something that you can really build up your endurance with and have fun mixing up where you go running. Do it somewhere where you appreciate the landscape, go with a friend, or download your favorite audiobook or podcast to keep you company and make your run feel less like a workout and more like a fun activity! 😉

Cycling
Cycling has become a more popular form of exercise in recent years with the growing popularity of group cycling classes. If you have a traditional bike, a ‘bike’ exercise machine in your home, or quick access to a cycling class, this is a fun and effective way to mix up your workout routine with a workout that really packs a punch.

Yoga
Yoga is an effective form of exercise for both the body and mind. It increases your flexibility, strength, and encourages you to focus on how your breath moves through your body.

Workout out on your own and on your own terms really gives you the flexibility and the confidence to adapt your workouts to your own liking, availability and fitness level, as well as the flexibility to work through moments of frustration without feeling any pressure or competition by those around you.
