multicultural-fashion-travel-blogger-influencer

Hey beauties,

As promised, I’m back on the blog this week to share one of the outfits I wore during my recent trip to Las Vegas with you guys. If you haven’t seen the recap about the trip (and a little insight about our wedding anniversary), you can check out the post HERE.

Before I get into the outfit of the day, allow me to share these words with you today:

“Do whatever makes you happy because the days aren’t coming back.”

A lot of folks are so focused on what people are saying that they miss out on things that could make them happy. If you are one of those people, I’m encouraging you today to live your life unapologetically, and to do what makes you happy. We are not getting any younger and, as cliche as this may sound, life is short, so do you and be you, friend!

This red and white checkered dress has gotten me a lot of attention and compliments, when I wore it around the Wynn and Encore resort for a little shopping at the Wynn Plaza Shops. The dress is very bright, stylish yet comfortable; plus it has pockets. Who doesn’t love that!? πŸ™‚

I kept my accessories to a minimum, as I feel like this roomy and comfortable dress needed to be in competition on its own. However I have to say that these bold and cute Zara earrings are a close second. I couldn’t have passed them out when I saw them on the Zara site a couple of months ago. I mean, you probably know by now that I adore unique statement pieces, and this outfit is a whole mood in my book. Would you wear it?

Vegas Trip And Wedding Anniversary Recap

beautiful-black-successful-couple-las-vegas

If you are a regular on my blog, it’s no secret to you now that hubby and I have celebrated our wedding anniversary about a couple of weeks ago. It was August 6th precisely, and to inquiring minds, this year make our 9 years anniversary in the holy matrimony and 19 years as a married couple in the supreme court. Yeah, I know it sounds too complicated for some of you all, but where I am from, it’s pretty common to be legally married a few months or years before tying the knot in church before God and men. I will spare you the details here. πŸ™‚

Anyways, back to the main purpose of this post, which is sharing a little bit of our wedding anniversary escape with you lovelies. We’ve planned about a year ago to travel to Mexico for our anniversary; and then life happened and Covid-19 became a thing. A serious one! So a few months into the pandemic, we’ve decided to cancel our trip due to the obvious safety reasons. I’m sure a lot of you have or are experiencing this. However with things getting somehow better, we put our traveling plan back on the table, only this time, we decided to make it closer to home, and a family trip. Hence, Las Vegas!

Hubby and I have been to Vegas a couple of times in our college years (wink wink) but we thought it would be a good idea to make it a family trip, so the girls can also discover the so-talked-about city of Vegas.
We’ve Stayed at the Wynn Hotel and we couldn’t have made a better choice for this trip. The Wynn and Encore resort is a beautiful place which pretty much kept us busy during our stay.

From the amazing restaurants to the designers stores, the seven bars and lounges, to the three shopping esplanades, five pools, two salons, two spas, the golf course… Even though a few entertaining places are currently closed because of the pandemic, we still had a lot of fun touring and enjoying the resort, spending much needed relaxing time at the spa and in the pool, visiting some of the stores, and just enjoying the beautiful scenery and the food.

The decor and services at the spa were great! I had a high radiance facial; and hubby and both had a couple massage.

Some of the restaurants we ate at were Tableau at the Wynn, Allegro (an Italian restaurant), Buffet at the Wynn… The food everywhere was delicious specifically themed; and the atmosphere was just gorgeous and pleasant.

However, I have to say the Costa Di Mare, where we had our wedding anniversary dinner, was the best of all! Renowned for its seafood flown in daily from coasts of Italy and the European’s waters, the 5-star restaurant serves regional specialties overlooking its romantic lagoon. Ah-mazing! It was a great fine dining experience with scrumptious meals and amazing views. I will definitely eat there again!

We also get to tour the strip with the girls (Hello hot weather!!!)  and one of their favorite places to have been was the Mme Tussauds Museum! If you are not familiar with this museum, it’s a major tourist attraction displaying the waxworks of famous and historical figures, as well as popular film and television characters and famous actors. There are a few of the Mme Tussauds museums around the states and the world.

They also had a great time experiencing indoor skydiving for the first time, visiting the venetian resort. The one thing that was very important to us when deciding to take this trip is the safety and prevention measures about Covid-19. I’m pleased to share that our experience from the airport/flights to the hotel we stayed at and the places we visited were all into consideration and well-being of the people. The Wynn and Encore resort had a mandatory face mask policy during your stay, and it was very supervised! We can barely take off our masks for pictures purposes, and you know for me it was a little bit of a struggle, but again it’s for the best of us all and I couldn’t complain. I did manage to take a few pictures to the best of my abilities, and protection of myself and others; so stay tuned as I will be sharing all these #ootd with you guys in upcoming posts

Our tower suite was equipped with sanitary essentials in case you needed them, and in every corner of the resort, sanitizer stations were displayed for all guests and employees’ needs. We have been impressed by the precautionary measures, to say the least, but again we live in an uncertain and trying period and I invite everyone to make any trip’s decision at their own risk and consideration.

In conclusion, Vegas was fun, and we had a great time celebrating our anniversary away from our busyness. Coming back home was dreading, especially for the kids, but hey, there’s a reason why it’s called a “vacation” isn’t it?! So here’s my little recap and I hope it was worth your time and I hope you enjoy the pictures. Please leave your thoughts and comments for me below. πŸ™‚

Happy Mother’s Day

To all you beautiful moms and mothers-to-be, I wish you a glorious Mother’s Day and please allow me to share this beautiful poem with you.

Beautiful-mothers-day-poem-hypnozglam-outfit

✨DON’T FORGET…

When God created woman, He was working late on the 6th day…
An angel came by and asked. “Why spend so much time on her?”

The Lord answered: “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?”
She must function in all kinds of situations. She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time; have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart. She must do all these with only two hands. She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day.”

The Angel was impressed!
“Just two hands… Impossible! And this is the standard model?”
The Angel came closer and touched the woman. “… but you have made her so soft, Lord.”

“She is soft.” said the Lord.
“But I have made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome.”

“Can she think?” The Angel asked…

The Lord answered. “Not only she can think, she can reason and negotiate.”

The Angel touched her cheeks… “Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her.”

“She is not leaking… it is a tear.” The Lord corrected the Angel.

“What is it for? Asked the Angel.

The Lord said. “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride.”

This made a big impression on the Angel.

“Lord, you are a genius! You thought of everything. A woman is indeed marvelous!

The Lord said. “Indeed she is.
She has strength that amazes a man.
She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.
She holds happiness, love and opinions.
She smiles when she feels likes screaming. She sings when she feels like crying, cries when happy and laughs when afraid.
She fights for what she believes in.
Her love is unconditional.

The Angel asked. “So she is a perfect being?”
The Lord replied. “No. She has just one drawback. She often forgets what she is worth.”

DON’T FORGET who you are and your worth, no matter the opinions of others. You are seen and heard. — Happy Mother’s Day! ✨

Covid-19 Mental Health Reminder |7 Mental Health Tips to help you stay sane in the midst of this Pandemic.

Lifestyle-wellness-mental-health-post-hypnozglam

Can you believe it’s May already? The last few months have been interesting, to say the least, but if you’re reading this I’m assuming that you’re alive and well and I hope you are staying safe and healthy.

We’re all going through an uncertain time, and the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting all of us one way or another. Even though social distancing is becoming our new normal day by day, let’s not forget that it can take a toll on our mental health; and we must do our part to stay sane and healthy.

There’s a lot going on in the world… there’s no doubt about that; and while we can’t control the virus and the other things, we do have the ability to control how we respond to certain things. if you’re feeling overwhelmed in this disquieting and untranquil time, please don’t underestimate the power of turning off the news, unfollowing certain people, or simply distancing yourself from any negativity. It’s important to always protect your inner peace and happiness!

Here are seven mental health tips to help you stay sane in the midst of this Pandemic:

1 – Get Dressed – Do your hair/makeup even if you’re not going out

Working from home or staying home 24/7 with no plans to go out doesn’t necessary require you to dress up and looking your best around the house. However in very chaotic times like this one, getting dressed up (even if it’s in comfort clothes) or doing your hair and makeup may help you feel less in a rut and be happier and more productive around the house.

Fix your hair, do your makeup, wear something that feels flattering or has a hint of glamour. It feels better to approach each day with a ‘Girl Boss!’ or ‘Get it, girl!’ attitude. It doesn’t matter if you’re only working from your couch; you deserve to feel strong and beautiful! It really affects your whole outlook.

2 – Eat or try new healthy recipes

Situations like self-isolation or quarantine most likely call for constant trips to the refrigerator. Who can blame you…? However, keep in mind that the more trips you make to the refrigerator, the more likely you are to gain a lot of weight at the end of this quarantine. This being said, instead of reaching for the quickest (and most likely unhealthy) snack, try to cook a variety of healthy food. Eating healthy is a great mind booster and we all know all the other benefits. Consider Pinterest, Youtube, food TV channels, recipe books… your best friends if you’d like to take this time to try new recipes.
You can even make this a fun social distancing challenge with your friends and love ones. πŸ˜‰

3- Get Some fresh air

Even though we are asked to stay home in order to help in flattening the curve when it comes to the Coronavirus, getting some much needed fresh air every now and then may help in keeping our sanity. Let’s be honest here, we all need some fresh air after being stuck in the house, playing the different type of roles to kids from parent to math, history, art, or gym teacher! πŸ˜€

Getting some fresh air (even with your mask and gloves on) will help not feel so cooped up or “stuck” in the house… even if it’s just standing on the balcony or by the window for a few minutes.

4 – Be Creative

This is a perfect time to make a great use of your creative mind. Some of us are literally been forced to stay home, but this can be a blessing in disguise to people who often complain about not having enough time in the day to work on that side hustle or start that business. Use this time efficiently to work on that project you’ve been putting off for so long or start working on finding your calling or purpose in this life. Remember that potential has no limit and you can reach every goal you set out to achieve. Go for it! Have a spine! Strike your own path! Walk to the beat of your own drum; and have fun!

5 – Stay connected

A lot of things may have been canceled, but love, joy, kindness, compassion… and all those nice things that come from the inside of us are not canceled. If you feel like connecting with someone or a loved one, pick up the phone and make that call. Video chatting like zoom or facetime are some of the quick and efficient ways you can connect with someone without feeling so much of the self-isolation situation.

6 – Unplug

Everyone, everywhere, is talking about the virus. Every news outlet is reminding us about the virus and it’s damages every second. Turn off your devices and get some well-deserved rest or alone time. Read a book, take a long bath, do your nails… Do just about anything to get your mind relaxed; and remember, the number of Recovered outweighs by far the one of Deaths in all reported cases here at home and all around the world! πŸ˜‰ There’s still hope yet, so stay positive, do your part, and rest. Newsflash: Doing your part includes taking good care of yourself! Indulge in that self care. Self care is very important for our mental health.

7 – Reach out

Although our world is in distress right now, there’s a beautiful thing happening. The coronavirus pandemic has brought a lot of people and things together. People, communities and countries all over the world are coming together to focus on one common problem. Which means we are in this together. Mental health is always an important subject, and even more so in this disquieting time, so please reach out to a friend, a loved one or call a mental health help hotline or visit this mental health hotline numbers and ressources to seek help. Also remember to check in with your friends and family. We’re in this together. Be kind and spread love!

Love & Light,

4 Exciting Jobs That Allow You To See The World

Many jobs these days require a strict 9-5 schedule while working in an office. But there are some jobs that allow you to see the world, as they involve and require travelling. So if you are someone that is dreaming of seeing the world, but you don’t know how to finance this passion, one of these jobs might be a good option.

Here are 4 jobs that you can do that would allow you to see the world:

1. Crew Ship Worker

Being a crew ship worker entails different duties depending on the cruise line you work on as well as in what type of role. Some of the job opportunities available are for: servers in restaurants, performers, technicians, cashiers, customer assistants and more.

A requirement to be a crew ship worker is to request visas for the necessary countries ahead of time. For example, if you are to be a crew ship worker for a cruise around Australia you will need to apply for an MCV visa, via specific platforms such as AUVISA

To make yourself stand out as an applicant, it is helpful to know more than one language and to be CPR certified.

2. Flight attendant

Exciting-jobs-Ideas-blogpost-hypnozglam

Working as a flight attendant is one of the most sought-after careers that enable you to travel. It’s a great way you can earn a good income and benefits, while also traveling to some incredible destinations.

Requirements vary depending on the airline, but the ability to be on your feet and reach the overhead bins is standard. Knowing a second (or more) language is also helpful in this line of work. Most flight attendants start out by working on national routes before moving to the international ones.

3. Au Pair

Being an au pair is a popular job that enables you to travel. If you are responsible, good with kids, comfortable living with a host family, and willing to put in the time and energy this is a great job! Free room and board is most often included and sometimes an additional salary on top of that is as well. If you have a destination in mind, you can search for opportunities in that country and talk with an agency that can help you find the right fit.

4. Tour Guide

If you have a love for history, culture and being around people, a tour guide is a fun job that will get you out and exploring. This is a role where your passion for travelling and experience the world can make a significant and positive impact on those in your tour group. Many remember a place and its specific facts because of a tour guide! A requirement for this job is to be comfortable working during high and low seasons, as well as the local knowledge in order to give informational tours. If you want to work as a museum tour guide, for example, you will probably need to go through a specific training and demonstrate sufficient mastery of the material. If you are an outdoor tour guide, CPR certification will most likely be required.

Would you be interested in doing one of these jobs? Would you like to read more about jobs or careers that allow you to travel the world or have a flexible schedule or life? Let me know in the comment session.

As always, thanks for reading and happy new month!

Love,

Edwige
