I know a lot of people feel stuck and ask how to keep moving forward or moving towards your dreams without being distracted by the reality we live in today. How do you dream big and focus on building your dreams when news outlets keep reminding you of the sad reality we live in, making you believe that maybe you should put these dreams of yours on hold?

The truth is that you shouldn’t! My answer to anyone asking “How to keep moving forward with your dreams in this reality?” is to keep your dream in front of you! It’s like driving a car. You get behind the wheels with a destination in mind. Then you get on the road and… what do you notice? You notice others’ cars driving on the same road. You notice other people and scenery all around you. You focus on your own driving and you keep going toward your destination. You may hit traffic, but it doesn’t stop you. You may see someone do something that annoys you, but the moment passes and it doesn’t stop you. Why doesn’t it stop you? Because you know where you’re going and you keep your eyes on the road. When things come at you in life, that seems out of the plan, completely against you and unfair, don’t let it capture all your attention and energy. Instead keep the image of what you desire and where you want to be in front of you. The more your focus is on that, the more space it takes up in your mind; and before you know it, you won’t have room for all the other stuff distracting you. You can be aware of your reality and live in the now, and yet float on your dreams until you wake up one day to realize that you actually achieved them. It just takes Focus. Remember, KEEP YOUR DREAM IN FRONT OF YOU no matter what your current reality is!

Once this unpredictable and disquieting time we are all facing is over, wouldn’t it be rewarding and mind quieting to plan a fun girls getaway trip?

You could do Miami, Mexico, or Paris, classic places for a girl’s trip, or you could change it up and try something new! Gothenburg, Sweden is perhaps an unexpected, but incredible destination for a girl’s weekend. Saudi Arabia 

Saudi Arabia has recently opened up to tourism with its introduction of the tourist visa, and thousands of people have already taken the opportunity to explore and experience the beauty of Saudi Arabia. The country has become a modern place for travelers, with its incredible old and new architecture, such as the Jeddah Tower also known as Kingdom Tower with a height of almost ¾ of a mile, as well as historic religious sites.  


Barbados

Located on the eastern edge of the Caribbean, Barbados is an island that is full of culture, natural beauty and pure holiday relaxation. 2020 is the year to visit especially if you have Bajan roots as there is a 52-week festival that will host parades, traditional food, music and activities. If you are visiting during this year, you will have the experience of the already incredible holiday here with plenty to do and see outdoors as well as the special cultural events. 


Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul is a destination with incredible architecture, history, and charming streets that you can explore. If you and your girls are interested in art, seeing the contemporary art at Arter is a must. You can have as luxurious of an experience as you’d like in Istanbul, but you can also make it a trip focused on cultural sites and favorites such as Topkapi Palace. 


Paros, Greece

Paros is a Greek island that has not yet been overcome by tourism and still holds that characteristic touch you want when island hopping with your girls. However, this is a spot where you can build an entire holiday around. You’ll find the classic white buildings with blue roofs here, picturesque alleys, sea views, and friendly locals. 


Tbilisi, Georgia 

Tbilisi is a destination that has recently come into newfound energy, with Georgian design, architects, and chefs recreating what it means to visit the city. You can make your way through Tbilisi going from wine bar to restaurant to luxurious hotel to photography museum and more. At home strength training is very simple to do, and you can use little to no equipment in order for an effective workout. Some of the most efficient exercises that you can do from the comfort of your home include: push-ups, squats, lunges, abdominal crunches, etc… To be sure you are following a routine that you will really see results with, you can use a fitness app like the 30-Day Fitness App for a guided workout. Walking

Yellow Crush | Spring Forward

With everything going on in the world today, I thought I would bring this little burst of color to brighten up your day. I don’t know about you, but I’m more than ready for colors. Winter style is fabulous and all, but there’s nothing like making that Winter-to-Spring transition. The days get longer, the clothing gets a little lighter and the styles gets brighter. What else can we ask for?

As much as I want to keep this post about Spring style, it will be hypocritical and insensitive not to talk about the Coronavirus pandemic that the world is facing. It’s been difficult to find that balance between real life and escapism. I want to address the issues that affect us all, but also maintain some degree of normalcy and decorum.

That been said, none of us is really in control of this unfortunate situation, but my faith has allowed me and my family to surrender everything to God and to lean on Him. It’s fair to say that this pandemic is affecting all of us one way or another, but we must all remain calm, take precautionary measures and keep our peace through it all… and most importantly, know that in the end, everything will work itself out.

The main message here is to not be fearful or anxious, but to keep praying and practicing mental positivity daily. I believe we will get through this; and I’m sending a prayer and positive thoughts to anyone that needs it.

Happy Valentine’s Day with Liana’s cake pops

Greetings to you, valentines and galentines,

I know most of you have been waiting for this day with great anticipation! Well, so have I!  This very day being extremely busy for us – Conferences at the girls’ school and basketball game for big sister all evening – I actually decided to surprise hubby with a quick lunch for two, since he got the good fortune to be working from home today…

I told myself: If we can’t go to a valentine’s day dinner tonight, well a valentine’s day dinner will come to us… at lunch!   I quickly door dashed a steak meal for two from Ciao Bella… Truth be told, as much as I was excited about the quickly planned home-style dinner for two, I was even more excited by these goodies Liana’s Cake Pops hooked me up with! What a great compliment to my ‘minimalistically’ impromptu setup for the lovers’ lunch! The combination and assortment of colors just bring up the V-Day vibe!

And they did not just look pretty, they were scrumptious! Thank you, Liana’s Cake Pops for this marvelous creation! You made my day, girl!

I’m looking forward to the weekend to enjoy fully some fun time for my valentine, but I couldn’t wait to share these pics with you!
