Far-Flung Destinations for Your Next Girls Trip After CoronaVirus Quarantine is Over

Once this unpredictable and disquieting time we are all facing is over, wouldn’t it be rewarding and mind quieting to plan a fun girls getaway trip?

You could do Miami, Mexico, or Paris, classic places for a girl’s trip, or you could change it up and try something new! There are so many new places in the world to explore, and it’s always better to do it in groups. Your next girls trip is a great opportunity to check out somewhere new and create memories with your friends.

Here are a few far-flung destinations for your next girls trip:

Gothenburg, Sweden

Gothenburg, Sweden is perhaps an unexpected, but incredible destination for a girl’s weekend. It is a port city on the Swedish seaside where you can visit beautiful parks, go island hopping, spend some time at a classic Swedish spa, take a tour of the canals, eat local seafood, and explore a city that is big enough but not ‘too big’.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has recently opened up to tourism with its introduction of the tourist visa, and thousands of people have already taken the opportunity to explore and experience the beauty of Saudi Arabia. The country has become a modern place for travelers, with its incredible old and new architecture, such as the Jeddah Tower also known as Kingdom Tower with a height of almost ¾ of a mile, as well as historic religious sites.

Located on the eastern edge of the Caribbean, Barbados is an island that is full of culture, natural beauty and pure holiday relaxation. 2020 is the year to visit especially if you have Bajan roots as there is a 52-week festival that will host parades, traditional food, music and activities. If you are visiting during this year, you will have the experience of the already incredible holiday here with plenty to do and see outdoors as well as the special cultural events.

Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul is a destination with incredible architecture, history, and charming streets that you can explore. If you and your girls are interested in art, seeing the contemporary art at Arter is a must. You can have as luxurious of an experience as you’d like in Istanbul, but you can also make it a trip focused on cultural sites and favorites such as Topkapi Palace.

Paros, Greece

Paros is a Greek island that has not yet been overcome by tourism and still holds that characteristic touch you want when island hopping with your girls. However, this is a spot where you can build an entire holiday around. You’ll find the classic white buildings with blue roofs here, picturesque alleys, sea views, and friendly locals.

Tbilisi, Georgia

Tbilisi is a destination that has recently come into newfound energy, with Georgian design, architects, and chefs recreating what it means to visit the city. You can make your way through Tbilisi going from wine bar to restaurant to luxurious hotel to photography museum and more. This is a unique place where you will create memories that will surely last a lifetime with your friends, and no other holiday will compare.

Simple and Efficient Workouts You Can Do On Your Own

We all want to stay healthy and feel good in our bodies, but sometimes the time that it takes to go to the gym and partake in an extensive workout regime is just too much time, money, and effort in our already busy lives.
So for those of us that want to support our health and exercise without the need to go to the gym, here are some forms of exercise that you can do on your own with basically zero equipment. This seems truly befitting, especially in these precarious Coronavirus (Covid-19) times where confinement and social distancing are of the essence!

Simple and Efficient Workouts

At home strength training

At home strength training is very simple to do, and you can use little to no equipment in order for an effective workout. Some of the most efficient exercises that you can do from the comfort of your home include: push-ups, squats, lunges, abdominal crunches, etc… To be sure you are following a routine that you will really see results with, you can use a fitness app like the 30-Day Fitness App for a guided workout. Let’s say you want to focus on your midsection, the app has a specific 30 minute core workout that you can follow, as well as an entire abs regime that you can do and track your results with.

Walking is a very underrated form of exercise, even though it is an efficient way to get a workout in – workout that is easy on your body and, definitely something you can surely fit into your daily routine. Going for a walk and getting some movement in, in general, isn’t something that will get you drenched in sweat, yet it will activate your cardiovascular system. You can go for a morning walk, go for an after-dinner walk, fit in whenever and wherever you can during your day, and even get your family or friends to join you. This is especially helpful for parents since they can get their kids out for walks with them and get some exercise in all the while encouraging their kids to be active.

Running is a way for you to get outside or make use of that treadmill you have at home. You can boost treadmill workouts by doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the treadmill or on your run and amplify your already effective workout. Running is something that you can really build up your endurance with and have fun mixing up where you go running. Do it somewhere where you appreciate the landscape, go with a friend, or download your favorite audiobook or podcast to keep you company and make your run feel less like a workout and more like a fun activity! ðŸ˜‰

Cycling has become a more popular form of exercise in recent years with the growing popularity of group cycling classes. If you have a traditional bike, a ‘bike’ exercise machine in your home, or quick access to a cycling class, this is a fun and effective way to mix up your workout routine with a workout that really packs a punch.

Yoga is an effective form of exercise for both the body and mind. It increases your flexibility, strength, and encourages you to focus on how your breath moves through your body.

Workout out on your own and on your own terms really gives you the flexibility and the confidence to adapt your workouts to your own liking, availability and fitness level, as well as the flexibility to work through moments of frustration without feeling any pressure or competition by those around you.

Yellow Crush | Spring Forward

With everything going on in the world today, I thought I would bring this little burst of color to brighten up your day. I don’t know about you, but I’m more than ready for colors. Winter style is fabulous and all, but there’s nothing like making that Winter-to-Spring transition. The days get longer, the clothing gets a little lighter and the styles gets brighter. What else can we ask for?

As much as I want to keep this post about Spring style, it will be hypocritical and insensitive not to talk about the Coronavirus pandemic that the world is facing. It’s been difficult to find that balance between real life and escapism. I want to address the issues that affect us all, but also maintain some degree of normalcy and decorum.

That been said, none of us is really in control of this unfortunate situation, but my faith has allowed me and my family to surrender everything to God and to lean on Him. It’s fair to say that this pandemic is affecting all of us one way or another, but we must all remain calm, take precautionary measures and keep our peace through it all… and most importantly, know that in the end, everything will work itself out.

The main message here is to not be fearful or anxious, but to keep praying and practicing mental positivity daily. I believe we will get through this; and I’m sending a prayer and positive thoughts to anyone that needs it.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, through prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

Now, back to this Winter-to-Spring transitional outfit. Do we like it? Share your thoughts with me. I’m taking this time of international pandemic and quarantine situation to prioritize certains things in my life, and practice more self-consciousness. Expect to see more blog posts, and in the meantime, subscribe to my newsletter to stay in the loop, and get your read on.

As always thank you for visiting. I hope you have a great start to the new week! You can shop my look below.

Happy Valentine’s Day with Liana’s cake pops

Greetings to you, valentines and galentines,

I know most of you have been waiting for this day with great anticipation! Well, so have I!  This very day being extremely busy for us – Conferences at the girls’ school and basketball game for big sister all evening – I actually decided to surprise hubby with a quick lunch for two, since he got the good fortune to be working from home today…

I told myself: If we can’t go to a valentine’s day dinner tonight, well a valentine’s day dinner will come to us… at lunch!   I quickly door dashed a steak meal for two from Ciao Bella… Truth be told, as much as I was excited about the quickly planned home-style dinner for two, I was even more excited by these goodies Liana’s Cake Pops hooked me up with! What a great compliment to my ‘minimalistically’ impromptu setup for the lovers’ lunch! The combination and assortment of colors just bring up the V-Day vibe!

And they did not just look pretty, they were scrumptious! Thank you, Liana’s Cake Pops for this marvelous creation! You made my day, girl!

I’m looking forward to the weekend to enjoy fully some fun time for my valentine, but I couldn’t wait to share these pics with you!

I hope they make you smile as they did me… and oh contact me now to book your home or event design/decor complimentary consultation.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you!”

5 tips for a fast and efficient moving

Moving is no joke; especially when you’re a busy parent and just don’t have enough time to invest in a moving project. However, having proper guidance and good moving tips can definitely help smooth out the process. I have moved a few times in my life, and I can assure that these tips that I’m going to share with you may seem very basic, but they do come really handy. So if you’re planning to move in 2020 or in a near future, or even help a friend or a family member move, you owe it to yourself to read this post all the way to the end!

TIP 1 : Planning and Budgeting.

Planning your moving process ahead of time is crucial; and as for every project, planning makes life so much easier. Would you need a sitter for your kids that day? Book one very early on. Would you need to work with a professional moving company? Do your due diligence and decide if you’d need to hire one or not? How much can you afford? Compare their rates. How many boxes approximately do you need? What other tools do your need? Don’t forget things like, trash bags, newspapers, sturdy tapes etc… Just like planning, budgeting for your moving is important. The cost of moving usually adds up when you factor in all the expenses from buying moving tools, or water for the helpers, to working with movers or renting a moving truck. Think about it; it’s going to be a pretty busy day and worrying about money should be the least of your concern. Have a budget in place and work around it.

TIP 2: Decluttering

Nobody wants to move into a new place with a bunch of things they don’t need or haven’t used in years. If you don’t already do a seasonal decluttering, a pre-moving declutter may just turn out to be very beneficial to you. One good decluttering practice is to donate, sell, or get rid of anything you haven’t used in at least a year. Things that don’t fit well or that you just don’t like anymore, kids toys that they outgrew, …etc can be donated to a local charity, a church, a daycare or a friend or neighbor that may need them. You’ll be checking your one good deed off for the month too! 😉

Doing a garage sale or selling items that are in excellent or good condition on websites such as ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist… is a good way to declutter, but also to make a little money on the side.

Decluttering may seem like a lot of work, but you would be surprised how many unused or unnecessary things you have in your house that are just using space you think you do not have. Decluttering is an excellent rule of thumb for a successful moving and will save you a great deal of space and money.

TIP 3: Protect and Organise.

We talked about newspapers, sturdy tapes, labeling, boxes and some other packing tools in tip 1. Remember? Yes, here’s how they come in place. Those wines glasses or other fragile gadgets need to be well-packed and protected. imagine your sentiment when unpacking your beloved belongings to only realize that they have been damaged or broken in the moving or unpacking process. Not a good feeling, so save yourself the headache and use some newspapers or clothes to protect your breakable items. I also find that trash bags can help in protecting your clothes that are on a hanger. Use them as the clothes bags used in the retail stores. Big blankets and sheets are also good to protect large mirrors or home goods; and some moving companies do provide some of those, when you work with them.

TIP 4: Labelling and Color Coding

I have labeled and numbered my moving boxes for most of my moving experiences, which I think is a great process, but some moving companies such as Relief Moving Company LLC are using Color Coding instead. The way color coding works is that you choose a color and you attribute that color to each room. For example, you may choose to use the color green for all boxes that belong in the Living room, and at a glance, the movers can see any boxes with the color green and know that those boxes are for the living room, without having to read what’s written on the boxe. Smart, isn’t it? Each room has its own color and the movers (or whoever is helping) would have a sheet with all colors and their designated room. Do you prefer color coding your boxes or labeling them?

Whether you choose to label and numbered your boxes or color code them, this is ultimately one of the MUST in your moving process and you not want to skip it.

TIP 5 : Hire a Professional Moving Company

We all can agree by now that moving can be quite stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. In my opinion, this is one step that a lot of people tend to overlook but it’s definitely an important one in my book. Professional movers help you save time and they ensure that everything is done in a timely fashion, and that your belongings are secure and safe. Another great perk about hiring professional movers is that they do all the heavy lifting for you and eliminate the risk of you or someone else getting hurt. If you live in Minneapolis or in the Twin Cities area, the folks at Relief Moving Company, LLC are highly recommended! They are located in Blaine and serve Blaine and its surrounding areas. Their customer service is outstanding and they are fast and efficient. The testimonials on their page are proof that they are one of the top movers in the twin cities with affordable and competitive rates. The lovely and friendly couple in charge, Adam and Itzel Page, own the company and have over 15 years of experience in the industry. They offer both residential and commercial moving services.

Hiring professional movers has become a necessity for most people, because of the amount of stress they can relieve and take out of your moving experience; so if you are living in the Minnesota area call this Commercial Moving Company in Blaine, MN for the relief you need.  Pun intended ðŸ™‚
